Olean- James S. Hawaj of 212 N. 6th Street in Olean, died Sunday (August 30, 2015) shortly upon arrival at the Olean General Hospital. Born June 5, 1972 in Gowanda, he was the son of Waldemar and Judy Smith Hawaj. Mr. Hawaj was a graduate of Olean High School and worked at Perkins Restaurant in Olean. He enjoyed playing Bingo and going to County Fairs. Surviving are his parents of Olean; one sister Nancy (Kevin) Easton of Hinsdale, one brother Wally (Jolene) Hawaj of Salamanca; two nephews; three nieces and a life partner Alan Gore of Portville He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road on Friday (September 4, 2015) from 11-12pm at which time funeral services will begin. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the SPCA 2944 Olean Hinsdale Road, Olean.
