Obituary of Loryna M. "Reno" Shaner

Loryna "Reno" M. Shaner Amherst, NY Loryna "Reno" M. Shaner of 471 John James Audubon Parkway passed away peacefully Saturday (September 5, 2015) at her residence. Born March 6, 1925 in Salamanca she was the daughter of Harry and Veronica Forness Kamholtz. On November 15, 1950 at St. Patrick's Church in Salamanca she married Richard D. Shaner, Sr. who predeceased her August 19, 2000. Mrs. Shaner was a graduate of Salamanca High School and worked for 13 years for Leo's Market in Olean. In 1976 she began employment with AM&A's Department Store in Olean where she retired in 1987 as assistant manager. She was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Angels Church prior to moving to Amherst 14 years ago. She had been active at Archbishop Walsh in the Parents Club and was a lifetime member of the Walsh Foundation. Surviving are 1 son Richard D. (Jamie) Shaner, Jr. of Williamsville; 2 grandsons Scott Shaner and Tyler Shaner and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a stillborn grandson Cory Shaner; 4 brothers Harry Kamholtz, Jr., Dr. Donald Kamholtz, John Kamholtz, Norbert Kamholtz and 1 sister Marjorie Feichter. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday (September 10, 2015) at 10:00am at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Archbishop Walsh Academy, 208 N. 24th St. Olean, NY 14760 or to Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, 201 Reist St. Williamsville, NY 14221.
